This poster, which was presented by Becky Carter at the 6th National Climate Impact, Risk and Adaptation Meeting, September 2026, introduces the RELIABLE study and sets out the inception findings on climate preparedness and the role of mid-level actors in Sussex.
The emerging themes on what works for climate preparedness in Sussex include tackling structural barriers; bridging response and adaptation; adopting a systems-based approach; supporting mid-level actors’ capacities and resilience; informing approaches with lived experience; and going with the political flow.
